Persepakatan ini jika menjadi realiti mampu memelihara kemerdekaan dan keselamatan rakyat Palestin, sekaligus mewujudkan benteng diplomatik yang mampu mempertahankan kedaulatan negara dari kezaliman rejim zionis Israel.

“ A New Bold World of Peace for Israel and Palestine ”

I refer you the news reports for the past few days in the NST relating to the current Israel and Palestine conflict. The current tit-for-tat attacks engaged by both Israel and Palestine (under the Hamas administration) is another dark chapter in the history of international peace effort led by the UN and the international community.
The expiry of the 6 month truce on 19 Dec 2008 does not give both parties the right to resume mindless attacks on each other territory.
In this perennial conflict between Israel and Palestine , there is a need for a paradigm shift in resolving the stalemate. Both parties must be united in common understanding for the political, economic and survival of both government and th epeople in the light of current realpolitik dimension.
Malaysia as the 'chairperson' of the Organisation Islamic Council (OIC) must immediately take concerted effort to call for an immediate ceasefire in the Mid-East and lead international efforts to map out a new peace treaty. The international community must be reminded that both governments cannot be allowed to take matters into their own hands at the expense of world peace in the 21st century.
The United Nations under the leadership of Ban Ki Mun must take serious effort, not mere cosmetic measures, to stop the civilian carnage and collateral damage which do not benefit anyone at all in the light of the Global Millennium Goals (GMG) initiated by the United Nations for a sustainable growth in all major areas of human hand global heritage concerns.
The UN Security Council and particularly the United States under Barrack Obama must rise to the occasion and take initiative to spearhead an immediate ceasefire and work towards establishing a sustaining joint peace treaty that would guarantee total independence for both governments, acceptance to co-exist and benefit from each other’s unique historical and cultural diasporas.
I truly believe that peace can be achieved if both governments can be persuaded under pressure by the international community to remain focus on common grounds instead of irreconcilable differences. It is time the world stand united to give them a chance to work out a real peace treaty to live and co-exist in peace.

“No to Invasion”

I refer you to the main head line “Gaza Invaded” in The Star today at page 1 (The Star 5.1.2009).
The invasion by Israel into Gaza territory is a clear contradiction to well established public international law. The Gaza territory is a territory recognized by international law and Hamas is an a government democratically elected by the people who opted for a Hamas administration. This must be uphold under democracy at all costs. The direct invasion by a foreign country is a repetition which is analogous to the 2003 US invasion of Iraq under the nuclear pretext.
